Last week, AUGMEDI had the opportunity to take part in the Wyss Zurich BioSTARS Summer Camp 2026, an inspiring talent program that gives young people hands-on insights into life sciences, technology, entrepreneurship, and translational research.
As part of the program, our co-founder Andreas Lanter shared the story behind AUGMEDI and the journey from a doctoral research project to an interactive medical learning platform.
From Research Project to Medical Learning Platform
Every innovation starts with an idea—but transforming that idea into a product that creates real value takes curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
During the session, Andreas shared how AUGMEDI evolved from a doctoral research project into an interactive platform supporting medical students, healthcare professionals, and institutions. He reflected on key milestones along the way, from building an interdisciplinary team and developing the first prototype to continuously improving the platform through close collaboration with educators and users.

BioSTARS is more than a summer camp. It connects young talents with researchers, entrepreneurs, and innovators, encouraging them to develop their own ideas and explore how science and technology can create real-world impact.
